I was born in Capranica Prenestina, and from a very young age, I've been actively involved in the life of my hometown. The mosciarella, smoked chestnuts, have always been a part of the life of Capranica Prenestina's residents. I fondly recall joining my grandparents and family in the chestnut harvest every October during my childhood. After my election to the Municipal Council in May 2019, I started working with the municipality on several projects aimed at restoring the chestnut forest. It was during this period that I got acquainted with Slow Food, and decided to support their mission. With Slow Food's help, we succeeded in bringing attention to the importance of chestnut cultivation, creating a space for Capranica Prenestina and its mosciarella. It brought immense satisfaction to me and the entire community to witness "La Mosciarella delle Casette di Capranica Prenestina'' become a Slow Food Presidium. This achievement renewed our motivation to reconnect the community with what has since become the Il Castagneto Prenestino Natural Monument. We’re looking forward to seeing you here!
