ABOUT PAOLO NERI
I joined the Palestrina section of CAI 28 years ago to experience my love for the mountains in a different way and meet people who share my passion. Since taking on a leadership role in 2019, I’ve organized the restoration of 110 km of CAI trails in Monti Prenestini, which had been in need of extraordinary maintenance for several years. Myself, David Mocci, Vincenzo, and other members dedicate every Saturday to the maintenance of the trails. We do it more out of passion than anything else, and we love hearing appreciation from the hikers we meet.

ABOUT VINCENZO GASBARRI
I was born and raised in Castel San Pietro Romano; the mountains are in my DNA. My childhood was marked by daily walks to reach the family lands and mountain pastures. After I turned 11, I walked to Palestrina for school every day, descending and climbing the hillside, no matter the weather. After finishing my studies in Rome, I taught elementary school children for 40 years ... especially environmental culture, love of Nature, and knowledge of the Prenestini territories. In 1983 I helped found the Palestrina section of CAI, and, even in retirement, I help CAI keep the historical trails of the Prenestini Mountains alive.
